One issue that is important to me is the continued support to the infrastructure of our city. Blaine is a continuously growing city, and for those that have lived here for as long as I have, you have seen first-hand the massive growth that has taken place over the past several decades. This growth is exciting, and beneficial for our city. However, this growth has been the focus of Blaine for a long time, and many neighborhoods that are well established are not receiving the same attention as the growing portions of our city.
I want to work to ensure that there is reinvestment in older neighborhoods so they are receiving the attention and finances they need to maintain high-quality infrastructure. In many of our older neighborhoods our roads were neglected and in disrepair. It is important that we remember all corners of our city, in order to be proactive in maintaining quality infrastructure so we can keep our community safe. We need to invest in the improvement of roads and parks, as well as redevelopment opportunities; not only new development opportunities.
My plan is to advocate for the use of revenue from new developments, and other sources, to improve and preserve all neighborhoods. We need to invest in our residents and our infrastructure to make our city an enjoyable place for everyone to call home.
